Traditional vs. Cloud
What is cloud computing and what does it mean? Business applications are moving into the cloud and away from on-premise hardware. The shift of traditional software models, purchasing a bundle and upgrades to the Internet, and subscription billing has steadily gained momentum over the last 10 years. Now, with your business applications in secure data centers, cloud computing promises new ways to collaborate everywhere, including mobile devices.
Traditional business applications have always been very complicated and expensive. The variety of hardware and software required and cost to run them are enormous. You need a dedicated team of experienced and certified people to install, configure, test, run, secure, and update them. It is easier for larger companies to outpace the Small and Medium Business who can't afford the large, expensive infrastructures to compete.
Cloud computing has presented a better way. With cloud computing, you eliminate major headaches of managing hardware and software, this is managed by the hosting or software provider. The shared infrastructure means it works like a utility: You only pay for what you need, upgrades are automatic, and scaling up or down is easy. Cloud-based apps can be up and running in days or weeks, are secure, and they cost less.

Veterans entering our apprenticeship program will work in two career paths: VETS2ADMIN™ and VETS2DEV™ as business consultants while they are growing to become more competitive in the Salesforce eco-system and launching into their careers. Similiar to Salesforce, we start with the administrative track Vets2Admin and if there’s an added design to move into the developer market then you can move into the Vets2Dev program. Vets2Admin is currently underway and Vets2Dev will begin in the fall of 2018.
